INSIDIOUS – THE LAST KEY (Movie): It’s a mixed feeling! Neither good nor bad, jz another horror movie!

The storyline focuses on Elise and her family. It makes Elise past as the main storyline to provide audiences with an understanding towards her background and childhood; as well as her relationship with her family.

The movie starts up well and I love the twist in between. BUT it appears to fall apart and turn generic like the previous episodes in the last 20 minutes. Also, it rushed to end, without sparing time to explain much about the Demon and its purposes. And it ended fast and simple, leaving me with question-marks when walking out from the cinema!

The two sidekicks (Elise’s assistants) did successfully create some fun and laughter, to sooth the tensions; while the two girls (Elise’s nieces) are seen extra, as they did not really add much value to the movie.

The entire movie is full of jump-scares from the beginning to the end. However, they are less-quality scares, as compared to the ones found in The Conjuring series. In fact, some are predictable scares and NONE are memorable; or I shall say… they are forgettable after you step out from the cinema.

I gave 3.0 out of 5.0. It’s ok to watch, BUT not a super-good one because it still plays the same old tune, without presenting anything new or different! Also, the fears are not ‘impressive’ or ‘disturbing’ enough to bother you, or linger in your mind at night! Of course, you could still pay to get some jump-scares, if you have dry weekends or you wish to release tensions by airing your stress! Ha!
